The meeting on the 9th of May 2019 had assoc. prof. Gerasim Petrinski, PhD, the chairman of the „Rhetoric" department at the Faculty of Philosophy, as a guest lecturer. He proved to be an extremely interesting interlocutor to the members of the Circle, primarily because of his vast knowledge in many different areas – the history of rhetoric in ancient and medieval times, the connections between rhetoric and literature, the commonalities between neo-Platonic philosophy and rhetoric, the importance of non-verbal communication, the concept of the non-verbal stereotype, the theory of political propaganda etc. The young scholar gave an introductory lecture, titled „Basic rhetoric", which later on proved to be of great use to those among the audience, who took part in the student rhetoric competition, organized by the Circle.
