ROMAN MILITARY LAW. ROMAN ARMY IN THE BALKANS.
The gathering on the 15th of November 2016 was aimed at analyzing the topics of Roman military law and the history of the Roman army in the Balkans and specifically modern-day Bulgarian lands. Both the topic and the gathering itself were dedicated to the third anniversary of the untimely death of our beloved colleague and friend asst. prof. Theodor Piperkov. It was not only students, who took part, but also Аssoc. prof. Iliyan Boyanov (Faculty of History) – a lecturer in Archaeology and a leading scholar in the fields of Roman archaeology, Latin epigraphic and Roman military history. His report presented was aimed at analyzing different matters, concerning the Roman army veterans in the provinces of Misia and Thracia.
