26.X.2018 RHETORIC IN ANCIENT ROME

 

The gathering on the 26th of October 2018 was held in lecture hall 272 and was dedicated to the rhetoric in Ancient Rome. It also marked the fourth year since the Circle's reestablishment. The meeting was moderated by asst. prof. Tihomir Rachev, who introduced the students to the essence and the importance of rhetorical mastery by comparing the speeches of two of the most famous orators of the Ancient world – Demosthenes and Marcus Tullius Cicero. Afterwards the short film Murder in Rome, which follows the story of Cicero's first ever court trial as a lawyer, was projected to the audience.
