27.V.2016 POSSESSION AND PROPERTY
The gathering on the 27th of May 2016 was dedicated to the Roman law influence on the formation of the contemporary concept of possession. The topic was presented by second-year students Atanas Pavlov and Peter Kerelov. Peter Kerelov's report concerned the matter of possession in Italian, Spanish and French civil law, as well as the development of this legal institute throughout the Antiquity and the Middle ages. A comparison between possession on Ancient Rome and in modern-day Bulgaria was made by Atanas Pavlov, who also overviewed the differences in the provisions given by the former Bulgarian Law of Property and Estate (which was annulled in 1951) and the contemporary Law of Property. The reports were followed by a brief discussion.
